Occupational Therapy for Handwriting

Handwriting is the act of forming letters and words on a page using a writing tool, such as a pen or pencil.

It is a complex task, and difficulties can stem from many different places, for example:

For children with dyslexia, decoding the patterns of letters and making these links can often be exceedingly difficult.
Poor motor ability, which can lead to inaccurate letter formation.
Visual-perceptual problems, which can cause difficulty understanding the concept of letter forms.
Attention deficit disorder, which can cause writing too fast and losing accuracy.
