SERVICES FOR SCHOOLS

Manchester Occupational Therapy Services offer a variety of services into schools. We can provide assessments, skill-specific groups, training packages or provide a larger package which can encompass all of these areas and be tailored to your schools individual needs as part of a Service Level Agreement.

Pupil Premium can be used to fund this input.

Service Level Agreements

We can offer Service level agreements, whereby our services will be contracted to you for a specific amount of time over the academic year. This time can be used in a way that suits your school and a number of different models have been successful, dependent on the needs within the school and the time allocated. These packages can encompass assessment, intervention, groups and training. To discuss what we can offer for your school, please contact us directly.

Individual assessments

We can assess students who are having difficulty with their learning, this may be in relation to their attention, motor skills, writing skills or posture. Following this assessment a report is produced with recommendations to optimize the students learning experience. If it is recommended that the child would benefit from Occupational Therapy intervention, Manchester Occupational Therapy services can also provide this, as appropriate.

Groups

We can contribute to setting up skill specific groups within school, this can allow children who have similar difficulties to access the targetted support they need to make progress, whilst benefitting from the social aspects of working as part of a group.

The following are examples of the types of groups we may run:

• Gross motor skills
• Life Skills e.g. dressing, cooking
• Handwriting

Training Packages

We have a range of training videos available online, if you would like to purchase a subscription to access these, please contact us.

We can also offer bespoke training packages, this means we will design our training based around your schools needs. This may be for parents or staff.

• Introduction to Sensory processing and strategies for the classroom or home
• Sensory Circuits
• Handwriting  Development
